Thanks for visiting my home page. If you are already one of my valued readers, you may know that I was born on the High Plains of Kansas beside the tracks of the Santa Fe Trail and my first memories are of dust storms and tumbleweeds. The core of my work is a panorama of the Southwest though I am presently working on the fourth volume about the Highland Clearances, a sequence that began with THE ISLAND HARP.
Most of these books have been out of print but many are now available through an Author’s Guild Back in Print arrangement. These include many books published under the pen names of Jeanne Crecy, Jeanne Foster, Kristian Michaels and Deirdre Rowan, and most of my young adult titles –which some of you probably read as teen-agers. Since they’re historicals, they don’t go out of date. My books have won four Western Writers of America Spur Awards, and I hold the Levi Strauss Saddleman Award for lifetime achievement in Western literature. For the past twenty years, I’ve lived in a historic adobe ranch house in the Chiricahua Mountains of Southeastern Arizona.
